3D Modeling

Our last mission in the Red Sea is dedicated to 3D modeling. A team of 3D model specialists will be on board Fleur de Passion to develop different interactive 3D models based on real Red Sea diving sites.
This project is run within the context of a European research project with the objective of digitalizing the seafloor in 3D imagery as well as producing interactive, virtual and animated environments that integrate submarine video games and audiovisual content.
The aim is to enhance and promote the reality beneath the water surface and to broadcast it widely on-line. Internet users will later be able to explore the Red Sea as if they were diving, but virtually.

Virtual diving with the Digital Ocean team

In May 2011, the Digital Ocean project's team is onboard Fleur de Passion. The objective of this project is to develop innovative tools dedicated to the enhancement of the seabed by virtual exploration. During two weeks, the team will work on the 3D modelling of several underwater sites.
