Human Impact on the Oceans

Marine Protected Areas in the East Atlantic

From Gibraltar to northern France - Atlantic - Mai 15 to June 15, 2010

Fleur de Passion will next sail all the way to the Baltic Sea. Several weeks of navigation along the Atlantic coast of Europe will allow us to census surface species and macro-waste and analyse plankton. The crew's days and nights will be governed by protocols developed for these different tasks.

Kieler Woche with students from Bugnon Highschool

Kiel - Germany - June 19 to 27, 2010

A group of swiss students joined the crew of Fleur de Passion during the famous "Kieler Woche". They visited the zoological museum, hosting skeletons of dolphins and whales and a history of discovery expeditions on the oceans. Waddensea - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Waddensea - North Sea - August 09 to September 10, 2010

Fleur the Passion will return to the North Sea heading for the Wadden Sea in particular. This area has recently been declared "World Heritage Site by the UNESCO".

Sail Amsterdam 2010

Amsterdam - The Netherlands - August 19 to 23, 2010

We will sail through the Dutch channels to reach Amsterdam for "Sail 2010" (August 19th-23rd), the largest gathering of Tall Ships in the world. Fleur the Passion will moor in the centre of the event. We will organize a multimedia show, talks and conferences to present "The Changing Oceans Expedition" to the public.

Invasive species - Southern England

Isle of Wight - South England - September 11 to 15, 2010

Fleur de Passion will cross the Channel and sail the River Thames to reach the heart of London, where she will stay for a few days.
