Aurélien Ducroz - France

Born in 1982 in Chamonix, Aurélien began competitive ski jumping at an early age and, with two titles as Junior French champion, the urge for new sensations grew stronger than ever. He tried snowboarding and very quickly excelled, doubling for the main actor in the movie "Snowboard". After a month and a half of skiing alone on the most beautiful slopes in the Alps, he decided to become a freerider. He started from scratch, but by 21 years of age, he'd hit the world cup circuit. With instinct and talent he pulled off third position in Whistler, Canada, for his first competition. And that was only the beginning: Aurélien continued his road to success, winning the title of world vice champion, the Engadine snow and even the Xtrême de Verbier in 2006, the most important extreme skiing competition in the world. The oceans and mountains are his elements. He learned from his father, a famous mountain guide, to respect nature, its immense force, but also its fragility. He now wants to convince all young people of his generation to preserve nature and the planet. Aurélien has found in Antinea a platform through which he can convince the public that preserving the vast expanses of our oceans is crucial to the dreams and freedom of future generations. http://www.aurelienducroz.com/
