Exploring an historical wreck

Abdelhamid Berkouri, professor at the University of Sfax, also a specialist in maritime history and naval archeology, takes the Antinea team to the fishing port of Sfax.

He shows us a historical wreck, the last existing boat to have been used in the Mediterranean for the harvesting of sponges. He came across this boat several years before and dreams of renovating it, a task not unlike the reconstruction of the Fleur de Passion, which took 7 years and more than 70 000 hours of work.
