Human Impact on the Oceans - Al Hoceima National Parc - Morocco - April 24 to Mai 07, 2010

mission effectuée

Fleur de Passion will be sailing from Tunisia to Morocco for the first mission of 2010. The first project of "The Changing Oceans Expedition" will be on the impact of human activities on the oceans covered by a group of scientists from the Universities of Stanford, Santa Barbara and Morocco. By comparing observations from pristine areas with damaged ones we will better understand the processes of current degradation. In this project, we shall focus on sites that show a gradient of human impact on a relatively short distance. At each site, we shall make surveys along transects by SCUBA diving, in order to assess state the trophic structure and biodiversity.
